Remember when you had your first drinking episode and you woke up the next morning and thought you could die? Remember how you said, "I will never do that again," yet you did do that again and again and again and again?
Yeah. I remember. All too well, I remember.
Remodel Man's 20th high school reunion was this weekend. It was a weekend extravaganza ending with a party at the Hard Rock Cafe in the town where he went to school. It was a great time and I was surprised by how nice everyone was. I kind of thought it would be like high school all over again with all the little groups and such, but it wasn't. Everyone seemed truly interested in how their classmates were doing.
Being a spouse and knowing no one was a bit awkard, but the open bar helped. A lot. Maybe a little too much. And I am paying for it. I am remembering why I don't drink much. And how much more difficult it is to get over a night of drinking when you have a kid. (Thank God for the television.)
And just so you know, I am never doing that again...
Ha! I'm glad you had a good time. And I completely agree. Drinking like that should be reserved for those who don't have to wake up at 8 a.m. and act happy for the little ones in their lives. It's just not the same when you have kids.

Love it. And remember - never say never. At some point the memory of how much fun you had will replace the memories of nausea, pounding head, and overall crappiness.
Or maybe not ...
